  • A decorated Army officer who listened to the president's call with the Ukrainian president plans to testify about the conversation to House lawmakers Tuesday.
  • House Democrats will vote on a resolution laying out procedures as the impeachment inquiry approaches its "public-facing phase."
  • On the July 25 call between Mr. Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Mr. Trump urged Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden.

 

 

Tuesday, October 22, 2019:

  • The latest: Ambassador Bill Taylor, a key witness in the House impeachment inquiry, testified that he had been told President Trump would withhold military aid to the country until it publicly declared investigations would be launched that could help his reelection chances.
  • What Trump's saying: The President used a racially-charged term to describe the impeachment inquiry, calling the process a "lynching."
  • The timeline: House Democrats had hoped to have a potential vote to impeach Trump by Thanksgiving. That timeline now could slip closer to the end of the year.

 

 

Tuesday, October 09, 2019:

  • White House says it won't cooperate with impeachment inquiry, rejecting demands for documents and testimony.
  • The president's personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, says he won't cooperate with House as Senate Judiciary Committe Chairman, Lindsey Graham, asks him to testify in the Senate. 
  • Former Republican Congressman Trey Gowdy is under consideration to join Mr. Trump's outside legal team, which is seeking to expand amid the impeachment inquiry. Gowdy, a state and former federal prosecutor, is seen as a potentially valuable TV and legal spokesperson for the president.
  • House Intelligence Committee Chairman, Adam Schiff, Foreign Affairs Chairman, Eliot Engel, and Oversight and Reform Chairman, Elijah Cummings, the three Democratic chairmen leading the impeachment inquiry say they plan to subpoena Sondland, after he declined to appear Tuesday.
  • The three top House Democrats slam Trump for "obstructing" impeachment inquiry.
  • At the Direction of the State Departement, the U.S. ambassador to the E.U. did not appear for testimony before House lawnmakers. President Trump said he would "love" to send Gordon Sondland to testify, but not before what he called a "totally compromised kangaroo court.
  • In two tweets on Tuesday morning, Mr. Trump confirmed that he was involved in the decision not to allow Sondland to testify before the House Intelligence Committee.
  • A lawyer for the House told a federal judge that Democrats' impeachment inquiry extends beyond the Ukraine controversy and includes potential obstruction of justice by the president.
  • Before the call, the president instructed chief of staff Mick Mulvaney to hold off on releasing military aid to Ukraine that had beem appropriated by Congress.
  • Mr. Trump urged Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden and his son Hunter on a July 25 call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Monday, October 08, 2019:

  • ​Trump calls impeachment inquiry a "scam"
  • Republican Senator Rob Portman of Ohio said the president raising the prospect of investigating the Bidens on the July 25 call with the president of Ukraine was "not appropriate" but said he doesn't think it rises to the level of an impeachable offense.
  • Pentagon and Office of Management and Budget subpoenaed for documents in House Democrats' impeachment inquiry.
